MOTIVES CHAPTER 4

Crystal

To say that I was pissed was an understatement. I am so tired of throwing myself at Jonathan and him turning me away like I was some deadly disease. Well It was time for a new plan and I am sure that this one is going to work. I dont care what it takes, I am going to ruin Renee's life. It wont be long now. I will soon get revenge for my sister's death.

Renee

"Hello....hello....HELLO!" I kept saying hello, but my mama didnt answer, so I hung up.

As soon as I hung up, Jonathan came out of the bedroom into the living room. I was still kind of pissed with him for coming in at damn near 2 o'clock in the morning. He thought I was sleep but I wasnt.

"Who was that you was talking to?" He asked.

I ignored his question and asked,"Where was you last night to were you came in at 2 in the morning?"

"I could ask you the same thing."

"First of all I was with Michelle and second I came in at midnight unlike you."

"I was with my brother."

"Where?"

"Does it matter?"

"No it doesnt."

I walked out of the living room and into the bedroom because I didnt feel like arguing and I was growing tired of his attitude. He followed me into the bedroom and stood at the door. I got in the bed and pretended that he wasnt there.

"We went to that new bar that just opened up." He said.

I really didnt care, so I ignored him. I guess he got tired of standing there because he climbed in the bed with me. He tried to cuddle up with me, but I moved away. He pulled me back to him and started blowing behind my right ear. I tried to fight him, but eventually I gave in to him. We started kissing, but was interrupted by my cell phone.

"If thats Crystal, dont answer." He said.

"Hello." I said ignoring him.

"Hey you left your physics book at my house." It was Michelle.

"Oh okay just keep it and I'll get it from you this weekend."

"Ok thats all I wanted, bye."

"Bye."

I hung up the phone and stared at Jonathan. I loved him with all of my heart and I made sure he knew it.

"What are you looking at?" He asked

"Nothing." I answered.

"So Im nothing?"

"Yep." I laughed to let him know that I was just playing.

"Who was that?"

"You are nosy. That was Michelle since you must know."

"Oh, whats going on this weekend?"

"We are going to her son's birthday party on Saturday."

"I didnt know her and Crystal was cool."

"Dont even try it. You know Im talking about me and you."

"I dont know that girl Renee. Why would I want to go to her son's party?"

"So you can get to know her. I think its about time that you two met. Please do it for me."

He smiled and asked,"What do I get if I go?'

"My unconditional love." I gave him a kiss on the cheeck.

"I cant buy nothing with that."

I threw a pillow at him and got out of the bed to go brush my teeth. Thats usually the first thing I do but that phone call this morning distracted me. My mama sounded distraught, so I made a mental note to call and check on her later. I know she was kind of hurt after Janet's death. They had gotten kind of close after all that had happened with Darren.

There were so many thoughts running through my mind as I sat in my bed trying to figure shit out.

Was Renee the killer? If so, how did she know about me and Janet's plan? No Renee and I have tightened our bond so she wouldnt do something like this, or would she? Lets not forget about all she did to get at Denasia. Naw, she would come to me if she knew something. What would happen if she was the killer? Would I be able to kill her? Does she know that Janet was my sister?

I had so many question, but little answers. I sat and thought a little longer and the longer I thought the more it made sense that it was Renee. Who else could it possibly be? She was the only one who had somewhat of an insight to all that happened. She knew that Denasia wasnt my biological child and I never really gave her an explanation to what happened that night. She could have easily put the pieces together and figured everything out.

I know one thing, I wasnt about to sit back and let her destroy me. Hell, I brought her ass in this world and I surely wouldnt have a problem taking her out. Or would I? Could I really bring myself to kill my own child. Denasia was different, she wasnt my daughter and I had a problem with raising another woman's baby. Now Renee, I carried her in my womb, I dont think it would be as easy to get rid of her. Or would it?

Michelle

I was so excited that my son's third birthday was today. I cant believe its been three years already. Everybody doubted that I would make as a single mother in college, but Im doing just fine. JJ's father wasnt around, but that wasnt an issue for me. He didnt want to be a father and I didnt want his ass around.

JJ was in his room taking a nap when the doorbell rang. I already knew it was Renee because I had asked her to come over to help me set things up. To tell the truth I really didnt need any help with the decorations, I just liked Renee's company. Im bisexual and I kind of have a crush on her. I havent told her that yet though because I dont know if she is interested in girls. Thats why I want to feel her out first and then tell her how I feel.

I opened the door and a sensation ran through my body as I looked at her. She looked sexy as usual but this time she had a glow to her and that was turning me on.

"Hey girl thanks for coming." I told her.

"You're welcome. Here is JJ's present that I bought for him." She handed me the neatly wrapped gift and I sat it on the table in the dining room that was going to be the designated gift table.

"I thought you were bringing your boo." I had noticed that she didnt bring Jonathan with her.

"Oh he will be here later on. He said he had to go out to buy something for JJ."

"Ok well lets get started."

We spent the hour blowing up balloons, making gift bags, setting up the food, and posting "Happy Birthday" signs all throughout the house. It probably wouldnt have took so long if I wasnt constantly getting distracted by Renee's body.

By the time we finished, our first guest came. I excused myself and went upstairs to wake my son up and get him ready for his party. All while getting him ready, the doorbell constantly rang, so I knew that it was a lot of people downstairs already.

"Hey baby." I heard Renee say, so I figured her man had finally arrived.

I hurried up and finished getting JJ ready, so that I could go meet Jonathan, my competition. I sent JJ downstairs so that I could go to my room to retrieve his presents. I scanned the room looking for Jonathan as I walked down the stairs and one particular face stood out to me. I was so shock to see him there that I dropped all of the gifts. It was my baby's daddy and he was all hugged up with Renee.

"Hey Michelle, this is my boyfriend that you've heard so much about, Jonathan." Renee said.

We made eye contact and I knew this was going to be a bad day.
