The Crossover, pt. 25… the ending no one expected… part TWO

Jay was beyond pissed that she may be in labor and Marcus is nowhere to be found. She didn’t remember him mentioning anything about any meetings, etc. She hoped that he was on his way home. She didn’t want to call him on his cell phone, because he may rush to the house and it is a false alarm. Although, her father tried his cell phone already and he didn’t answer. She decided to wait as the doctor suggested. She wasn’t very patient, but she will try being patient for now at least. She definitely wasn’t used to this type of pain. Her father was there for her being very supportive. She was totally overwhelmed with emotions. She could give him a hug, but pain prevented her from doing so. She would remember to do once she was over her birthing ordeal.

She wasn’t expecting to be in labor just yet. She needed Lyric by her side.

Marcus was still out in the streets dealing with the drama that lead up to the shootout at the baby shower. The information that he and La got out of Pinkey was definitely helpful. He dropped La off, and checked his phone. It was then that he noticed that he had several missed calls from Jay’s aunt phone. He called her aunt to see what was going on. He wasn’t happy with neither what he heard nor the tone that she took with him. It seemed like he couldn’t do anything right since the shooting at the club when it came to Jay in her family’s eyes. He thought that was funny when Jay didn’t really fuck with them like that. She would visit occasionally, but she mostly stayed to herself or spoke to Marcus.

Marcus told Pat that he was on his way, but he had to make a pit stop before getting there. Pat said. “Hmmm okay, she isn’t going anyway just yet”. Marcus wanted to drive around the neighborhood for awhile to see what was going on. He was so engrossed in his personal problems that he didn’t realize that a car was following him rather closely. The driver was on Jason’s payroll. He had a job to do. He didn’t have any direct problems with Marcus. He actually thought he was an okay dude, but his boss gave him orders that he needed to carry out. The last person that failed this mission hasn’t been seen for a few days. He doesn’t want to end up wherever Jason sends his mistakes.

Lyric is finally home. She kicked back with a Corona, and some company. She needed this much needed release. She has been on the go every since the planning for the shower started. She hooked up, but it wasn’t frequent enough for her. She knew after this job she would be able to chill for the long term and not have to worry about any financial strains. She had hopes about going back to school. She started community college, but stopped due lack of focus. She wants to go back and get her degree in communications. She wanted to get into the radio industry. She wanted to hear herself on the radio like Rickey Smiley or Steve Harvey, but funnier.

She never shared that with anyone. She didn’t think that Jay would put her down or persuade her to something negative. She just wanted to this for herself. She believed from the beginning that you cannot stay in this game too long. Also, she will have a godchild soon, and she wanted to be around to see him or her grow up.

Savoy was digging as well. The information that he gathered wasn’t surprising. He couldn’t believe that Ray was snitching when Jay told him. He wanted to know her source, but she hold strong and refused to name her source that was another reason why he fuck with Jay. She is strong in every sense of the word.

He needed her in his corner 24/7.

Coca sat in her cousin’s living room thinking about how she got herself into this mess. Her sons didn’t belong to Marcus or Savoy. Marcus rubbed the nose into her face, and told not so politely to stay away from him and his girlfriend or she would regret it. The person that spoke to her in that manner was not the Marcus that she used to have a relationship with. The old Marcus would never have spoken to her in that manner. She had to figure out the way to track down the dude she had the one night stand with. She really needed some financial assistance with her boys. She no longer could take care of them by herself financially. She had to pay two of everything and it was getting expensive especially now that they are getting older, and asking for what they want.

Rosa is still moving around the area in the shadows keeping tabs on everyone linked to Jay. She knew if she tried hard enough Jay would be with her. She is amazed to see that Jay is about to become a mother. She would love to play house with her and her child.

Det. Cobbs finally called her aunt’s house and got the chance to speak with her cousin. She didn’t sound like herself. Jay informed her that she was in pain. She was riding it out before she went to the hospital. The contractions were still over 30 minutes apart, but they hurt like hell.

Det. Cobbs wanted to know he she needed anything if so she would drop it off. Jay said she didn’t need anything right, but she needed time to explain to Marcus and Savoy that she was her family member. Jay knew it wouldn’t be easy to explain; however, to them it should make sense she they avoided a lot of raids, arrest, etc.

Brock was still underground only coming out when he had a job or to see his “wifey”. He wasn’t purposely trying to avoid the crew, but he sensed that something was up the last time he spoke to Savoy. He wanted no parts of what was brewing. He already had a crew member’s blood on his hand.

Michael still wasn’t pleased. He knew that his daughter spoke with Marcus a couple of hours ago, yet, he hasn’t surfaced. To Michael, this wasn’t a good look. Jay’s cell phone was ringing with a few people checking in on her. She didn’t mess with too many people, but those that knew her called to see if she needed anything. She told everyone that she was great, and didn’t need anything. She and the baby got more than enough at the baby shower.

Jay and Marcus started a conversation a few weeks ago about what they wanted to name the baby if it were a girl or a boy.  They tossed around a few names; Brian, Taylor, Isaac, Marcus Jr. for a boy, and if she had a girl it would be Ty’ler, Melissa, Joanna, Keisha, or Shayla. Jay favored Ty’ler for a girl, and Isaac for a boy. Marcus preferred Marcus Jr., and Shayla but he gave in to Jay since she was adamant about her selection. He said. I just want a healthy baby his or her isn’t all that important. He continued that evening and said all of the names are good names. They agreed that they wouldn’t name their child something ghetto and comical or after a car that most people couldn’t afford. Jay shared the names with her dad and aunt.

Jay had called her father dad the first time about a week ago. It was becoming comfortable having him around. He wasn’t there for her, but he will be there for her son or daughter to educate them on way he or she wouldn’t want to follow in his / their footsteps.

Marcus stopped driving, and parked up near one of Savoy’s stash houses. The lights were off but he knew someone was inside. Savoy never left anyone of his houses totally empty.

Meanwhile, the contractions were coming closer and faster than they were before. Jay wanted to head to the hospital. Her aunt and father helped her into Pat’s car. Michael tried Marcus once more, and no answer. Marcus looked down at the phone, and thought I will be there. I am on a mission right now this is for our future. He hoped they will understand once he explained himself.

Jay got even more upset when her dad told her that Marcus didn’t answer. She asked him to call Lyric and Savoy between a sudden scream. The pain was getting intense. She felt like she had to use the bathroom. Her aunt was trying to help her. She remembered what she went through when she had Walter. She was in labor for 12 hours; however, she felt better after they drugged her up. After some urging she pushed Walter out. In the beginning, she was worried his big head stretched her vagina out and that no one would want her again. She noticed that it went back to his original size without any problems. It amazed her.

She wanted to answer as many of Jay’s questions as possible to ease her fears.

Lyric answered. She told Michael that she will meet them at the hospital. She asked which one they were going too. He told her and she hung up. She wanted to close out her evening the right way. She wondered if her guest wanted to roll with her to the hospital.

Michael spoke with Savoy. Savoy asked immediately where Jay is. Michael told him she is getting in the car. She’s on her way to the hospital. Michael asked him if he knew were Marcus was. Savoy laughed, but said I am not that man’s keeping before hanging up. Savoy knew this would be the perfect opportunity to get in. He showered earlier. He threw on one of his many sweat suits and headed out the door. Fortunately for him, he wasn’t at the stash house that Marcus was surveying. Savoy was coming from South Baltimore. He got around. He called his friend at the hospital to ensure that Jay would have a private room, and that she won’t have any problems once she got to Mercy.
