The Crossover, pt. 22 – no comment…nothing else should be said.

Lyric wasn’t happy when she left Jah. She still didn’t have the last piece of information needed to successful pull off their scam. She knew Jay wouldn’t be satisfied with this notification. She has to figure it out soon. She has a feeling that the information that she sought is right in her face. Before Walter got beat up by Ray, he used to hang out with some of the guys. He should be aware of some of their hideout spots that neither she nor Jay may be aware of. She wondered if he would be willing to talk. He has been even more reserved since this second attack.  Lyric decided that she would try to speak to him. All he can say is “yes” or “no”; whatever she learned if anything would help out his cousin. She would instill that into his mind. Lyric had to get past his mother, Pat, first. She wasn’t the most cooperate person since he has been home. She’s been going back and forth between hospital rooms, and then her house and the hospital since this happened. Lyric applauded her she’s definitely been trooper from the beginning.

Lyric had to do what she needed to do.

Marcus wanted to take the DNA samples to his doctor, but it was too late in the evening. He would place the items in the fridge in the stash house until tomorrow. He would take them to his doctor first thing in the morning, and ask for rushed results. He already knew he would have to come out of pocket several hundred of dollars to get this accomplished. He didn’t mind especially if it saves his relationship with Jay. Even since Coca pulled this crap their relationship has been strained.

Jay was still rubbing her belly when Savoy entered the room. She was surprised to see him after all this time. She stopped what she was doing. He told her don’t stop. He was enjoying her connect with the baby. He told her you are going to be a great mother. This made Jay smile. She needed to hear that today after all the promises she made to her unborn child. Savoy wanted this to be his family. If he had the heart to tell Jay how he felt before she stumbled across Marcus he would be in this situation right now. It didn’t matter to him Marcus will be out of the picture soon. He placed a hit on his head. He did it through Rosa. She handled everything for one set price, and never looked back. The one thing she made clear is once you hired someone she knew you couldn’t change your mind.

Savoy just enjoyed the time with Jay. They talked about the party before the shooting. Jay finally confided in him that she planned on seeking his approval to kill Ray once she had the baby due to her assault on Walter. Savoy just looked at her. He told her that he wouldn’t have approved it, but he would have allowed her to give Ray some of her own treatment in one of his houses. He had to keep his promises to her brother. He laughed, because now he was free of her and the problems that she created wherever she went. He and Jay reminisced for a while longer.  Before he walked through the door, he asked her why you think Det. Cobbs would be here at the hospital standing outside of your room just watching you. Jay shrugged her shoulder. She responded. I don’t know why that crazy detective would be here watching me. Savoy said. “Okay” He told her he will see her when she comes home. He asked her if she planned on moving into the condo he brought her. Jay thought about it. She wanted too, but knew that would create even problems between her and Marcus. He was enraged when he saw what Savoy got her, but he played it cool since people were around.

Michael was in the house, thinking over the events that occurred at the shower. He was in the family VIP section for awhile before he decided to walk the crowd and check out the honeys. He was trying to remember if he saw anyone acting out of character, nothing came to mind. He barely remembered Ray’s arrival. He still had some clout on the streets. He hasn’t been out there. He didn’t the illusions of grander to pull him back in especially since the climate has changed. The young boys regarded no one’s life or their own; however, he wanted to know who was bold enough to shoot someone at his daughter’s baby shower.

Det. Cobbs went home. She had to figure out what her next move would be. No one knew that she was related to Jay. She and Jay have been feeding information through another cousin on the force. The informant they were using got caught up in some drug beef, and become useless. She and Jay played it well for as long as it lasted. She needed some money in order to get low. Once the feds realized her role in what was going on she will not only lose her job she will possibly get locked up. She was tampering with evidence, altering information, and giving new leads to her cousin so she could stay on top of the hill. Det. Cobbs needed to speak with her cousin, but that moment at the hospital was not the appropriate time to do it.

It’s late in the evening; Jay is trying to watch TV in her hospital room when she gets an unexpected visitor.

Everyone else is doing what can to recreate normalcy in their lives. The blocks were busy, the dealers were back even though it was hotter than a Sunday in August, the honeys were clocking the dollars, and the regulars for some reason were in their respective houses thinking about how tomorrow will go down. Jay will be released from the hospital.
