The Crossover, pt. 19 – The results are in… and another round of drama ensues…

Jay couldn’t stomach any more the current situation. She swore that Walter was dead. She was outside in the ambulance and they wouldn’t give her any information about Walter. The only person by her side at the moment was her father. He came looking for her. She was glad that he was there for her right now. She wanted to know where the hell Marcus was. She knew that Lyric hang back to get information about what was going on.

The EMT felt that Jay’s pressure was extremely high. They wanted to take her to the hospital. Her father told her that the ambulance just pulled off with Walter and his mother inside. He doesn’t think Walter was going to make it, but he didn’t want to inform Jay as of yet. He wanted her to calm down; she had another life to think about at the moment. Even Michael wondered where the baby’s father was. She has been out here for awhile. He should be by her side holding her and assuring her that everything will be all right.

Michael didn’t like this Marcus character at the moment. He understood the street has importance, but he needed to prioritize.

Pinkey was sitting on the curb crying uncontrollable. She couldn’t believe that Ray was gone. It happened so quickly…so suddenly. Pinkey felt guilty. She was at the party flirting with different males and females. She even exchanged numbers with a random female that was there with her man. She threw the number away a little while after the put Ray on the stretcher. She wanted nothing to do with previous behavior. She wanted someone who would care about her just as much as Ray did. Pinkey didn’t hear when Savoy walked up to her. He looked at her with disgust. He called her a whore. He said I hope you enjoyed your time with Ray, because if I find out you had anything to do with this I will personally kill you myself. Pinkey lowered her head and started crying even harder.

Coca had to explain to the officers why her young children were in such an environment. She informed the officer that she was invited to a baby shower and couldn’t get a babysitter. She thought it would be ok if she brought her kids as long as they stayed in the back with family members of the mother to be. The police officer said he would check with the club owner if this information is accurate. If not, her kids will be taken away from her this evening by child protective services. She would be charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Coca began crying. She had only herself to blame. No one would have any sympathy for her, because she brought her boys there to get what she thought they deserved.

She hoped that the club owner would have some tenderness in his spirit but she understood business comes first. She was wrong, and didn’t think her plan all the way though. She honestly didn’t think someone would shoot up a baby shower…nothing surprises her when it comes to Savoy and Marcus.

The officer asked one of his female counterparts to stand with Coca while he searched for the owner of Club One. He didn’t believe a word that he was told no one would bring their child to a club such as this one. It had a reputation for violence amongst its patrons. The officer walked inside. All he saw at first was a sea of cops. He walked through and found the owner talking to one of the detectives on the scene. He had to interrupt. He attempted but he was stopped by a guy in a tee short inquiring about the pregnant lady. He waved him off by saying she was outside. Brock was not happy about being waved off.

Brock knew he hit Ray. He didn’t understand how a bullet hit Walter. He was careful in his planning. He wasn’t worried about who the other causalities were. He was just ecstatic that he was no longer under Ray’s thumb. She was a bitch, and needed to die. He now needed to figure out how he was going to get out of the club with his gun without anyone asking too many questions. The cops were all over the place so far no one bothered to ask him anything. He blended into the crowd of shocked party-goers. He slid his gun in its holster. He wanted a strong drink. The party was over now. He knew that Savoy would want some answers once it was said and done. He didn’t plan on attending her memorial service.

Jah had hoped that the undercover cop would have gotten hit. He wanted to know what she was up too. When his cousin, Lyric, informed him of her true nature. He was curious why she was all in Jay and Marcus’ business. It was known that Marcus was pulling in major figures, but so were Savoy, him, and two other local boys. He wondered if she was caught up in their network as well. He had to inquire quietly. He planned on getting her before she got the block. He needed Lyric to transport his drugs south soon or there were going to be problems, for him and others.

The officer found the owner of Club One. The owner was pissed the fuck off. His establishment was already on the city’s watch list for impending violence on select evenings. He hoped that his episode wouldn’t get him shut down. He couldn’t afford the financial drown even with Marcus’ promises of money. He used his business for several purposes. He would have to call in his one favor from the city council president. He used to smash her a few months ago, but she ended things due to his repetition, and she is next in line to be mayor. She didn’t want any rumors, or truths messing up her chances. He understood her concerns, but he truly liked her and wanted to see where it would go. Now, it wasn’t about like, lust, or love…it’s about business. He had to remain open.

So much is going on.

The cops taped up the club, removed what they felt was evidence, rushed those who complained to the hospital, and had fines in place to issue to the owner. They called the fire department, and it was determined that he was over capacity.

Brock successfully got out of the club. He slipped his gun in some random woman’s purse. She shouldn’t have brought that big purse to the club. He made sure that his prints were gone, and he removed all the remaining bullets. He tossed them a nearby trash bin. He felt he was all clear at least for the moment.

Folks in the hood were talking loudly about the shower.

Meanwhile, Marcus was with Jay and her father at the hospital. Jay’s father was not very happy with his behavior since the shooting occurred. He believed that he took too long to get to Jay’s side. He understood that business needed to be dealt with; however, he is about to be a father and a husband. Michael felt he needed to learn his priorities now before committing to his daughter. Michael had made some mistakes when he was married, and he didn’t want to see his soon-to-be son-in-law make the same mistakes. Michael wanted some alone time to talk to his daughter. He didn’t think he would have to come and visit her at the hospital before giving birth to child.
