The Crossover, pt. 17 – Denial….Betrayal…and Lust???
Marcus wholeheartedly denies being the father of Coca’s children. He says repeatedly that he wasn’t aware that she had gotten pregnant. If so, he would have handled his responsibilities. He told Jay, her father, her aunt, Walter, Lyric, and anyone else that was present and would listen that this was a set-up. He knows nothing of their existence. He pleaded with Jay. She just walked away with disgust on her face. She was so embarrassed. She knew this would be the talk of the century everyone from the hood was there.
Savoy had other plans. He pulled Coca and her kids into the first bathroom he saw. He immediately started grilling her about what was on her mind. Why would she do something like this at a baby shower? Coca started crying crocodile tears about how she wasn’t given the same treatment when she was pregnant by him. Savoy almost slapped her. He had to remind himself that her sons were there taking it all in. They hadn’t cried once since the drama unfolded. He wondered what kind of home life she was exposing them too.
He softly said. No one knew that you were pregnant Coca. You walked away from everyone after that night we had sex. And then it hit him. These little boys could be his just as they could be Marcus’. It would become an even bigger issue if they were his instead of Marcus’ He just looked at Coca. She knew the question was on his tongue. She didn’t want to answer him. She just wanted a blood test to confirm her allegations but she somehow knew that their father was present.
Marcus called after Jay. She wanted look back. The shower was ruined, but he had one of his boys get on the microphone to distract the crowd and get them back into a partying mood. It worked after thirty minutes of him cracking jokes about what happened trying to lighten to the mood, and break up the cliques busy pointing and gossiping. Quick Silva started playing some old Biggie. The crowd went wild. All you heard was call me Big Poppa….
Marcus went looking for Savoy, his brother. He wanted to know why he would bring this bitch to Jay’s function knowing that she was up to no good. It was war now. He always sensed that Savoy had more feelings for Jay than what he was admitting too. This was his way of getting under Marcus’ skin, and hoping that they would break up or something so he could ease his way in. Marcus told himself his brother’s plan wasn’t going to work. He will work this out with Jay in the morning. He will give her some time to calm down, and not miscarry, or go into labor because of stress.
Marcus walked right past Det. Cobbs. He was so into his thoughts he didn’t see that she was trying to get his attention. On the other hand, Jah saw it all. He was glad that his cousin Lyric had informed him of her game.
The crowd is still getting thicker. It seems that people must have made some calls, because people were coming in thick. The owner had to make an announcement that the club was a full capacity and he will not be allowing anyone else to enter the establishment until a few people decide to leave. He also told folks of you leave, you will not be allowed back inside. Some folks in the crowd booed him, while others kept on dancing and having a good time wondering what was going to happen next.
Jay sat in the VIP section. She wanted to know where Savoy was. He should be by her side not that bitch’s side. Jay was furious. She suspected he had something to do with what occurred since she came with him.
She intended on telling Marcus he better get a DNA test done as soon as possible to prove that those little boys aren’t his or there so called relationship would be over. She didn’t do drama or liars. She’s never had to deal with bullshit like this when dating and fucking females. Her father walked up to her inquiring if she was okay, and asked if she needed anything to drink or eat. Jay was hungry. She asked him to make her a large plate with her favorites. Michael was more than happy to it. He bopped off in the direction of the food. Her aunt Pat wasn’t as nice. She wanted to know what the hell was going on. Who was that young lady claiming things about Marcus. Did he tell you about her? Are you ready to play mother to some boys that you don’t even know existed? Jay rudely told her aunt to back up. She warned her I have this under control. Jay grabbed her stomach this made everyone look. She waved it off by saying she was okay.
She needed Lyric. She was ready to go home, but she knew that the gifts had to be addressed before she could depart her own party.
She walked towards the gifts. Once Quick Silva saw her he switched up the music to something softer. This made the crowd look. She was handed the same microphone that bitch used to ruin her shower. Jay took a few deep breaths before making her statement to the crowd. She sensed that Marcus was behind her. She finally spoke. She thanked everyone for coming and celebrating her unborn child. She thanked everyone for their gifts, and words of kindness. She informed them that she may not be able to get through all the gifts this evening but she will definitely be sending out thank you notification. She asked that everyone that brought a girt, card, etc to see Lyric to sign the guest back if you haven’t done so previously.
Marcus grabbed the first gift off the table and handed it to her. It was wrapped in nice purple and cream satin like paper. Jay didn’t want to open it, but she knew that she had too. She was pleasantly surprised inside of the box was a two way radio similar to the ones that she used on the streets except this was named mommy and me something or the other. She just smiled, and thanked the person named on the card. It was from someone she didn’t really know. Her thank you was sincere and the crowd could tell that by her reaction to each gift.
This went on for over an hour. She finally got tired. She still had several gifts to go through. The crowd was tired of it too. She waved to the dj, and he instantly knew what song to play to get the crowd jumping again. She said he closing remarks, and handed to the microphone to Marcus. He had nothing to say. He wanted to have a discussion with her in private once they got home. He didn’t even know if she was coming to his place or not. She was that pissed off, and putting on a front for the hood.
Meanwhile, Savoy and Coca were still in the bathroom talking heavily. They didn’t notice that someone was eavesdropping at the door. Ray was back at her usual tricks once again. She wondered if Savoy had planned this to happen to break up Jay and Marcus. She felt that he wanted Jay back on the streets with him. She hadn’t been out like that since hooking up with Marcus and the pregnancy didn’t help the situation. She stood there by the door listening as Coca confessed her heart to Savoy.
Pinkey played the crowd. There was a lot of money in the crowd tonight. She was glad that Ray wanted to come separately. She can leave with whomever she chose. There were so many females and males to pick from. She had on her outfit, she know she was cleaner than a new pad because Ray made sure she stayed on top of her hygiene. She wanted to go home with someone other than Ray. It wasn’t that she was bored with Ray; she just needed something new to keep her interest. She spotted this lovely dime piece in the corner sitting one of her former customers lap. She played eye contact with her for several minutes until the chick got up. Pinkey directed her to the bar, and that is where they spoke for the first time. They exchanged names and numbers. Pinkey whispered in her until later.
Brock was not happy with Ray. He knew something had to be done or he would have to suffer the consequences for her actions. Although, he pulled the trigger trying to hit La. He knew that the only reason he was there in the first place was due to Ray spying on Jay. He wouldn’t be able to explain this to Savoy. Savoy isn’t an easy man to persuade. Brock knew he had to take desperate measure if he wanted to get from under Ray’s thumb.
