The Crossover, pt. 11

Walter changed his major to Criminal Justice after speaking to his uncle. His uncle told him that the system needs strong black men who will make the necessary changes to the system to balance things out. His uncle told him, most of the inconsistencies he saw and experience behinds bars. He most importantly told him to stay out of jail. He would not make it behind bars. He would be someone’s bitch immediately since his back is not strong. Walter was offended at first, and told his mother and his uncle just that. He thought it. He truly valued his uncles honesty, because it came from love and life experience. Walter asked his uncle has he ever had sex with a man while he was locked up. His uncle told him no there were too many freaky female officers, case managers, and the dietary workers for that to happen. He did confide in him that he has watched it take place. And it is not a pretty picture watching a man get raped, losing his manhood to another man behind bars.

 Walter wondered how many of the so-called thugs that went to jail remained goons or became bitches while locked up. His uncle told him what happens in jail should remain there, not too many men will come home willing giving up that information. It was his wake up call to stop going between folks passing information. Although he had stopped before this talk, he knew for sure he wouldn’t ever do it again. He didn’t want to end up like his uncle with a long jail bid or worse – dead.

Jay’s aunt and father were still debating back and forth over his attendance to Jay’s baby shower. He wanted to go over to her house a couple of days before hand to east her into seeing him after all of these years that have passed. Pat told him Jay is strong, resourceful, and independent woman who has a carefree personality to some degree. She said. She told her brother that Jay wouldn’t wild out or be disrespectful to him. Only Pat knew that Jay asked about her father regularly.  Michael finally gave in. He knew didn’t have any chance of not going due to his sister’s persistent. She wanted him to see his daughter in her environment, and how she carried herself even while pregnant. She told him that he would be impressed even though she didn’t agree with the way Jay lived her life. Pat occasionally would speak to her ways. It had increased since the pregnancy was confirmed Jay even stopped speaking to her for a short while, because it was too much.

Michael didn’t really know what to wear, what to say, or how to address the dude his daughter was presently in a relationship with. The last thing he heard was she’s into chicks, and it has been that way for years. The current change of events had him off balanced.

Everyone is prepping for the baby shower, purchasing outfits, shoes, getting their hair and nails done.

Jay and Lyric were both calm. They once again went over all of the details. Jay had Marcus call the dj to confirm his attendance and time of arrival. Lyric knew that she was wearing and who her date would be. Marcus and Jay both brought matching sweat suits from the Rocawear collection. They both got shirts made Jay’s shirt said. “Baby Mama” and Marcus’ said. “Baby Daddy”. They thought it would be entertaining. Jay brought some fresh Tims, and Marcus snatched up some New Balance. It would give the hater’s something to talk about getting drunk on them. They both respected their individuality. Jay got her hair cornrow-ed, while Marcus got a shape-up. They were ready to get the shower over with and deal with the underlining drama they’ve been bombarded with.

They both thought that the days before the shower would be peaceful, giving them time to think about their home front and the changes that needed to be made.  

Not at all…

Marcus had to dig into Jason’s ass again three days ago, because he was not returning his attorney’s calls. Marcus’ attorney was good friends with Jason’s family so he was fully educated on the possibilities if one were to truly get on their nerves; however, they knew of Marcus’ repetition also. He dealt with them unknowingly a few years ago. Before him it was Savoy. When Marcus was done with Jason, he and his attorney ended up with an open contract. He could leave anytime he wanted. He was free to work with any artist of his liking regardless of their label affiliation. The big win was the financial piece. He squeezed another 3 million out of Jason as a bonus, and now he will get 2.5 a year from Flaming Records for each hit record he produces.

He got the contract backdated so his hit songs currently playing on the radio will yield him an easy 7.5 million. He knew Jason was pissed beyond belief. Especially when he got that call from his uncle with Marcus conference in along with his attorney playing back their last conversation regarding his stolen beats and the break-in. Jason’s father and uncle were disappointed in him. He heard it in their voices. They did not tolerate liars or thieves. They brought him up with the knowledge that there was no honor amongst them. Jason couldn’t back paddle himself out this situation,. Both his father and uncle wanted to know where he got the beats from. In addition, why would he resort to such measures when Marcus was currently on the ball with dropping successful productions and wasn’t being too greedy…well…until now. His uncles pointedly asked him why create an unnecessary enemy in the industry knowing that Marcus was in the know while maintaining a low profile. Jason couldn’t answer his uncle.

He had made a poor choice due to his side relationship with Savoy. He couldn’t release who his source was under any condition. He remained silent for several minutes before speaking. He told Marcus, his uncle, and his father that his girlfriend was linked to the caper. Marcus and his attorney knew Jason was lying. Marcus was fully aware of everything Jay was doing. He may not agree but he held her down anyway. When Marcus begun laughing, Jason sensed he made the situation a lot worse. Marcus told everyone he was satisfied with the information received. Jason’s father heard the tone charge and immediately began worrying about his son’s safety. He knew he wouldn’t be able to protect him from everything, but he jumped into this mess on his very own and had to deal with the consequences. Marcus was already informed that he couldn’t kill Jason. The one thing he doesn’t do is take orders so in his head he was formulating a plan to take Jason out as their call ended.

Fast forwarding back to the present, Coca went through her closet and her home- girl’s closet trying to find an outfit to wear to Marcus’ baby shower. When she spoke to Savoy, he told her not to worry about a gift. He has that covered. She didn’t want to call him to ask for an outfit as well. She decided to borrow the money from one of her male associates. She tried remembering If Savoy mentioned getting her an outfit, but she wasn’t trying to test him, She planned on having her girlfriend bring her sons down to the club, In her heart, she believed they were Marcus’ boys.

Her acquaintance hit her off with two grand. She will be able to get her hair and nails done, purchase an outfit and matching shoes as well as have money to spend at the bar. She thanked her gentlemen and got down to business. The shower was only a couple of days away. She wanted to make sure that she looked even better than the last time Marcus saw her. She wanted to knock him off of his feet, while making his soon to be baby mama jealous. She tried to get Savoy to tell her about the chick Marcus knocked up. Savoy was very tight lipped, which wasn’t very surprising. Coca knew that Savoy knew who she was and respected her position. Coca has to check her for herself. There weren’t too many females that Savoy respected on and off the streets.

Ray couldn’t wait. Pinkey was on the defensive. She showed Ray her outfit for the shower and all Ray said was “that’s cute”, in a bored tone. She took off her new outfit hanging it up until the night in question. Pinkey was curious about what Ray was wearing. She had hinted about it weeks ago but nothing had surface. Pinkey suspected Ray was having second thoughts about taking her. They had that discussion. Ray shared her concerns and frustrations. Pinkey let her get it all out, and then manipulated the situation into her favor by convincing Ray that Savoy wouldn’t remember her. She even told Ray they could arrive separately if that would make her feel better.

Ray said in total agreement that may work She couldn’t afford any discontentment with Savoy right now. She had the feeling he knew her role in the shootout. The only edge that she had was the fact that Lil Rome broke into Marcus’ apartment on Savoy’s orders. She knew that wouldn’t sit well with anyone if it were to get out. She only knew because he had loose lips when he gets drunk. He accidentally ran his mouth to one of her many chicks that happened to be bi-sexual.

Ray hasn’t ended her connection to Carla. Whenever she isn’t with Pinkey, she’s with Carla. Their current arrangement worked out perfectly for everyone involved. Ray had to figure a way to get rid of Pinkey. She was too clingy and needy in the emotion department. Ray thought no one would ever think that this woman would have low self-esteem issues. She was above average in the looks department and her body was banging. She maintained herself as best as possible. She has a heavy odor down below the belt. She now keeps wipes with her to handle any offensive odors that may trigger from her arousal. She’s only gotten embarrassed one additional time since her first night with Ray. This was shortly after her menstrual cycle went off. She couldn’t believe it had happened again. Luckily for her Ray knew Pinkey’s cycle was on few days prior so the order was easily and quickly explained. Ray told her to go to the doctor and get checked out as well.

Ray wasn’t disgusted this time she understood that the body needed to cleanse itself. She actually learned that Pinkey was a very clean person. She really just had an odor. They didn’t have sex then. She pushed it back until later in the evening. Ray periodically saw Carla. Carla was available to Ray whenever she could get away from her husband.  He suspected her of cheating with a dude; however, he hasn’t been able to obtain any proof. She knew once he finds out about Ray and his missing money. He will kill her without blinking an eye. Carla was thinking that she needed to move on anyway. She planned putting the money back and refocusing on her husband one hundred percent. Although she knew he was creeping. Her most recent thoughts were triggered because Ray hasn’t been seeking her attention like she used too. It’s like someone else is distracting her.
