Family Affair (part 3)“Oh My God,” I said when I woke up. I didn’t take a nap I went to sleep it’s now it’s 8pm. I was exhausted, the day had turned out to be draining instead of an errand running, shopping, love making day that I had hoped for. Instantly my mind shifted to the issue at hand. I hope crazy ass wasn’t at my sister’s apartment yet. I got up and took a hot shower. While I was getting dressed I decided to call my big brothers on three way and put them on speaker phone so I could get my shit together. “Hey, what’s up Teal? What’s your crazy ass up to now,” said my brother Kellen sounding happy to hear from me. My brother Kellen was just as crazy as I was, if not crazier. Kellen was about 6’4 caramel skinned, hell we were all caramel skinned, he has dreads and hazel eyes, and to this day we can’t figure out how he got those eyes. He always got teased for his eyes when he was younger. But now the ladies couldn’t stop throwing themselves at him. He needed to settle down he is 30 now, time to stop playing the field that’s what our mom said all the time. She cracked me up she believed once we all turned 18 we should settle down. “Kellz, some stuff is going on with Jade and Sean. I need to call Chance on three way and give both of ya’ll the scoop. Its serious Kellz or I wouldn’t even be going crazy like this,” I told him I was so sincere though. This shit was really consuming me. “Hold on,” I commanded. “What is it now Teal?” Said Chance when he answered. He was obviously pissed about something and took his little bit of anger out on me. He didn’t know Kellen was on the phone too. “Nigga what’s your problem?” Kellen said in a pissed tone. “I don’t know who shitted in your shoes Chance, but it wasn’t me so don’t take that shit out on me.” I said. This fool must have forgotten that I don’t have all my damn marbles. I would hate to have to whip my own brother’s ass after I beat up the crazy bitch. “I didn’t know you were on the phone Kellz. I’m sorry I just have a lot on my mind right now. I have some things going. So are ya’ll going to tell me why ya’ll called me on three way or do I have to sit here and guess,” Chance said trying to get on our good side. I was still pissed though. “Look you fake ass Suge Knight, we have a problem with Jade and Sean they just got engaged. But Sean is married his wife busted my damn car window and left me a note on the entrance to the apartment door because she thinks I’m Jade,” I was still pissed at Chance and calling him a fake as Suge Knight would get under his skin. He looked just like him just lighter, more handsome and about 80 lbs lighter then him. “Chill out with that Suge Knight stuff Teal, what in the hell do you mean he’s married. I always thought he was a loser who lived with his momma. Now his wife is busting out your windows?” Chance said getting madder as the story started playing itself out in his head. Kellen was quiet which meant he was mad as lion that couldn’t catch a deer to eat. “I’m serious this shit is crazy,” I said as I read the letter to them both. “I took my car to get fixed so I have a rental until Monday. So I am going to sit outside Jade’s apartment and make sure the crazy bitch doesn’t try anything. I needed ya’ll to know what was going on, because who knows how deep this thing can get.” “I’m going with you,” Kellen said finally breaking his silence his tone was scary. Scary enough for even me not to fuck with him. Kellen didn’t play when it came to his family. He just didn’t give a fuck he would kill and has done so before. “Well, I can’t go. I have something going on. I will tell ya’ll about it when I am more comfortable with it. Call me and let me know what happens” Chance said as he abruptly hung up. “What the fuck is going on with him,” I said mad he wasn’t trying to help out Jade’s unknowing ass. “Fuck him, come get me when you finish getting dressed, and Teal don’t bring all of that spy shit you have. This is a simple stake out with a possible fight. We are not trying to capture the damn president!!” Kellen said laughing at his own stupid joke. “Shut up, I will be there in a few.” I said tying up my black Nike boots. These boots were my favorite for stomping a bitch down. Jade was just like our mom timid and afraid to face any problem even though Jade didn’t know about this current problem, but in the past she always ran and told me or Kellen what was going on. Our mother was timid and took crap from everyone mostly our father. He ran over her for years and she never stood up for herself until recently I secretly despised my mother for the lack of back bone that she had. As I thought about the past I became more enraged. I decided to call Jonathan but he didn’t answer. He was probably ignoring me because he couldn’t see me tonight. I finished getting dressed hopped in the car and drove down Garrison to pick up Kellz. He didn’t say much he was too mad. My brother and I had the same temper and when we were upset there was nothing anyone could do. When we were that mad we couldn’t even control our own emotions so we always flew off into the deep end. We finally get to Jade’s apartment complex and Bust the windows out your car by Jazmine Sullivan came on. How ironic I’m in this damn rental car because someone busted the damn window out of my car because they thought I was Jade. I mean granted we are identical from our 5’7 frames, medium build, DD’s, and caramel skin. But something separated me from Jade she had deep brown hair and I have deep brown hair with blonde streaks. Not to mention that we talk totally different I spoke with more of hood slur and Jade spoke as if she was white most of the time, even though we both graduated from the same HBCU. While we were waiting and watching I decided to chat a little with Kellen and see what’s new with him. I was just about to ask how things were going with him and his newest chick when we saw someone approach Jade’s car. “Who the fuck is that,” Kellen said pointing to Jade’s Blue Acura RL. I could tell Kellen was on the edge of going out of his fucking mind. Whoever it was meant business because they had a bat and it looked like a gun tucked in the back of there pants. It was a man because there are no chicks built like that. Now I was pissed. I reached under my seat for my gun. When I remembered I was in a rental and I did not take it out of my car before I took it to the shop. Kellen was already out of the car ready to approach the person. “Shit, I don’t have my gun,” I said. I needed to help Kellen he could get shot and it would be my fault
