MsBooButter's articlesYou Think You Know...But (pt. 36)
Ricardo had always been Mama Williams’ favorite of any boy Nikki had ever brought home. His parents were good people; the son of a prominent female realtor, who even though she had been a single mother for the better part of his life had met and married a very prominent doctor, thus cementing her position in the community. He, himself was as charming as a man could ever want to be and the way he doted over Nikki while in her presence assured her that he was truly in love with her daughter. He was a brilliant father to her granddaughter, not to mention that he was more than attentive to his mother-in-law; there wasn’t a thing that she asked him that he wouldn’t do. He was very attractive and before Nikki became so spiteful, he was well employed with a growing Network Security firm, so it was no wonder that these desperate single women were all ...
You Think You Know...But (pt. 35)
“So, all these years of stabbing me in the back have been about me making you feel like less of a woman or something?” Nikki said, sarcasm lacing her every word. “Bullshit! You never had a problem telling anybody anything including me! You’ve always said whatever you wanted to whoever the fuck you wanted, including me! This shit is about you being jealous that any man that you wanted always wanted me!”
“Apparently, they didn’t want you since they always found their way to my bed.” Tia shot back, angry that Nikki would try to make it seem like all of their problems stemmed from some placed other than the way she treated her throughout their entire friendship. “Yes, they found their way there but they always came crawling back begging me to forgive them forgiveness leaving your ass looking stupid. You said, I ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 34)
“What in the world made you sleep with Jay?” Monique whispered as she hot curled another section of Robin’s hair. She couldn’t believe her cousin had gotten herself involved with the man who had not only played her for a fool but also laid his hand across her face. Monique had never understood the inner workings of Robin’s mind, as she had watched her fall for loser after loser defending worthless relationship after worthless relationship. This thing with Jay was no better. Robin still seemed steadfast in her stance that her marriage to Jay was over and for the first time ever, she wasn’t trying to make excuses or fairy tales about what had happened between her and Jay.
“Girl, I don’t know.” Robin said as she cringed the heat from the hot irons stung her scalp. “It had just been ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 33)Nikki returned to her office later that afternoon to find on her desk a bouquet of red roses with one yellow rose in the center with a note attached that read: Red roses symbolize love, while yellow roses symbolize friendship, This bouquet symbolizes our relationship. Look at all of the love that surrounds our friendship …and if you’re still wondering, Yes! I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU! Love Justice The words on the little white card nearly brought her to tears. It was the most thoughtful bouquet of flowers she had ever received and she had gotten quite a few, but now that had as much meaning as these. She inhaled the floral aroma wafting from her token of love and smiled at the joy this small gesture had given her. She hadn’t felt ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 32)
“What are you doing here?” Robin asked, shocked to find Jay at her door before ten o’clock in the morning. It was her day, so she was dressed in nothing more than a t-shirt that barely covered her undies and big bunny rabbit slippers that she reserved for her lounge about days. Her was pulled up in a ponytail as she had just gotten out of the shower and had planned to spend the rest of her day watching soap operas and the women’s network channel, while eating bowl after bowl of cereal. She hadn’t long gotten back from dropping the girls off to school and nursery, while Monique had left the house early to prepare for some important meeting at work or so she had said. She folded her arms as she waited to see just what had brought her estranged husband to her door.
“Can I come in? I really need to talk to you.” Jay ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 31)
Her pride wanted her to wash away her tears in an effort to pull herself together, because crying was for girls…stupid one, but her heart longed for comfort from the man who mattered most to her. Her feet couldn’t move her to his arms fast enough to suit her soul. She buried her face in his chest and wept inside the comfort of his embrace. The security he provided was somewhat spiritual, as tightened his arms around her, giving her what she need most. He kissed the top of her forehead and swayed gently from side to side in an attempt to whisk away to demons that were tormenting her. She locked her hands around his waist, afraid that he may slip away if she didn’t hold on tight. Her mind went to could find no thoughts as the billowing sound of his baritone voice probed for answers to questions that she herself could answer. She ...
A Question From MsBooButter: Reader and Authors
I've been posting "You Think You Know...But" here for a little over a month and have been pleased by the respones that I have gotten. I was glancing through the post with the most views and responses and found that the love scenes got the most responses and reads. I have a few questions for all of those who have been following the story from the beginning and who honestly enjoy the story.
Do you think that I should steer more toward the erotic when trying to sell this book, which would mean my implantig much more sex into this work than there is now? I am also considering sending this book to Zane's Publishing Agency. It is right around the corner in Largo, MD and even though they are backlogged, I think I could get farther with them than anyone else that I've tried, but I'm worried that there's not enough sex in the book for her agency. I ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 30)
It had been almost year now that Sasha had opened the door that should have ended Jay’s marriage, but he was still holding on to the hope that Robin would forgive him and try to make their marriage work. Jay’s pursuit of marital reconciliation, meant Sasha’s dream of marital bliss was put on the back burner until she was able to convince Jay that there was no chance of saving his marriage. She had been trying to get him to move in with her for the past three months, ever since he’d told her that Robin had confess that their daughter wasn’t his. Jay seemed convinced that Robin was lying and just trying to get back at him for what he had done. Sasha on the other hand was convinced that Robin was telling the truth and determined to use Robin’s confession as a way to finally get Jay to break away from Robin for good.
Over ... You Think You Know...But (pt. 29)
“So, when were you planning to tell me that you were sleeping with Momo?” Nikki asked tired of the charade that both she and her brother were living. She wanted to share her new infatuation with someone and he was the only one she could trust not to tell another living person. She sat on the corner of his desk, staring at him as he desperately tried to ignore her and her question. She had played this game with him countless times before. She would ask a question and he would play deaf only to break and tell her what she wanted to know in the end. She continued, “I know you two are getting it in and I just want you to know that I’m not mad at you. Even though you did a big no-no and cross that sacred fraternization line. I’m not at all mad at you. In fact, I’m actually happy for you. She seems to be a ...
You Think You Know...But (pt. 28)
Over the next three months, the twins were each feeling the love and each keeping the love they were in away from each other, as well as, everyone else. Velle had become addicted to Monique, needing to see her any and every opportunity he could get. Monique had convinced him that it would be in both their best interest if they kept their relationship under wraps. How would they explain sleeping together after they had denied it for the past year? Velle hated not being able to let the world know that he was in love with what he considered the greatest woman in the world. But as long as Monique showered him with her love, both body and soul, then he was willing to keep what they had away from anyone who may disapprove.
Nikki, on the other hand, was on cloud nine. She was finally divorced and she was in what she was sure was love. She had never ...
